2018 Annual SUBOA Conference

Full conference registration is $250 and 1-day registration is $125.  All meals are provided.

Use this link to make your room reservation at the Crowne Plaza by Sunday, April 29, 2018.  The online reservation is the preferred method and you will automatically receive the SUBOA room rate.  Crowne Plaza will honor NYS per diem of $112/night until April 29, 2018.   

All individual reservations will require a one night’s room deposit (including applicable taxes and surcharges) or valid credit card to guarantee the reservation.

Room reservations may be cancelled up to Tuesday May 15, 2018.  Cancellations made after this time, or no-shows will result in a forfeiture of the deposit (including applicable taxes and surcharges).

Business Officers of SUNY campuses, along with many colleagues across the country, are dealing with an environment of declining enrollments, reduced revenue, increased oversight and mandates, and rising costs.  In this fiscal environment it becomes more and more difficult to provide students with the instruction and services which we are used to providing while still providing a safe, stable, and inviting environment that our faculty, staff and students, as well as our surrounding community expects and deserves.

The theme of the 2018 annual conference of the State University of New York Business Officers Association (SUBOA) attempts to provide the support needed to deal with, and excel in, this challenging fiscal environment, both professionally and personally.  From dealing with campus culture, to sharing specific steps others are taking, to learning how to achieve an appropriate balance of personal and professional activities, and a little fun included, we attempt to prepare the campus business officer to be successful.

In addition to the formal programs, the annual conference also provides opportunities for networking with colleagues and our sponsoring vendors.  We are all in this together and in many cases solutions are best made as a group (or misery loves company).
